🌺🌴 **WHAT A HAWAIIAN FAMILY FUN DAY!** 🌴🌺

Well… yesterday certainly didn’t start quite how we had planned!

After the problems with our power supply over the weekend — which, believe it or not, is STILL not completely back to normal!🙈 — and not knowing exactly what was going to happen, there was a point when we really weren’t sure how the day was going to turn out.

The plan was to hold as much as possible outside, but then came the next question… what was the weather going to do?! ☀️🌧️

Thankfully, with a little help from some of our trusted friends, we had gazebos and umbrellas galore and were determined that, come rain or shine, we were going to make the best of it!

And thankfully… the weather was on our side! ☀️🌺

A massive THANK YOU to everybody who came along and supported our Hawaiian Family Fun Day. After such a stressful start to the weekend, seeing so many people here enjoying themselves made it all worthwhile.

🥁 The Solo Steel Drum Band was absolutely AMAZING! 🥁

With the sun shining and the sound of the steel drum playing, it wasn’t long before people were on their feet having a good old dance and sing-song. For us, the steel drum entertainment really made the day and created exactly the atmosphere we had hoped for. 🌴☀️🍹💃

We would also like to apologise to the neighbour(s) who perhaps didn’t enjoy the music quite as much as the rest of us, particularly the bass! 🙈 We’re also sorry that we weren't able to keep answering the phone, but with a pub full of customers enjoying the afternoon, our staff were rather busy looking after the people who were here. We hope you can appreciate that events like this are an occasional part of running a community pub and certainly aren't an everyday occurrence.

We actually had even more planned for yesterday, but with all the disruption caused by the power problems over the weekend, unfortunately we simply didn’t get the chance to do everything we wanted to.

But sometimes you just have to work with what you’ve got — and judging by the smiles, dancing, singing and atmosphere, we think we still managed to have a pretty brilliant day! 🌺

🔥 A huge thank you to Sam & Lee for not only keeping everyone fed from the BBQ, but providing a bit of entertainment along the way too! 😂 The food was delicious and you both did a fantastic job.

And, of course, a massive thank you to all of our staff. It had already been a challenging weekend before the event even started, but everyone worked together, got on with the job and helped make it another great day at the Cherry Tree.

Most importantly, THANK YOU to every single person who came along. Whether you stayed for an hour or spent the afternoon with us, bought a drink, grabbed something from the BBQ, had a dance or simply sat and enjoyed the atmosphere — your support is what makes putting these events on worthwhile.

After everything the weekend threw at us, we couldn't have asked for a better way to finish it.
